As part of our 2023 program, FORA is excited to announce the launch of a new initiative— /REVIEW
/REVIEW introduces a stronger emphasis on the ‘written’ word within the FORA practice. Published digitally and distributed via the subscription channels, /REVIEW will bring you experimental, Montaigne/Retallack approaches to the essay + review.
We are interested in observant responses that engage critically with content, and playfully with form. Though there will be an emphasis on recent practice and showings, the concept of ‘recent’ may be bent if an idea is particularly interesting. Recent publications, films, interdisciplinary projects and digital exhibitions are also eligible for review— the finer details of the process can be found here.
As a supporter of FORA, you can now expect more frequent updates on global ideas, practice, and play. As a supporter of FORA, you are also encouraged to become involved with /REVIEW, by submitting a pitch or ‘text’ for publication, or a show or publication for review.
We very much look forward to hearing from you, and to presenting you with a new avenue for reviews + criticism.

{ i am extremely excited to be launching this renovation in the FORA world. This little bubble baby is a true passion project, and to be able to bring in a more textual aspect that can be shared with others is fantastico. i want /REVIEW to be a space for textual experimentation, for reviews and criticism that are as alive as the pieces themselves. at the end of the day, we want to read fiery writing that reminds us why we do what we do in the first place, and that is what i aim to give. full power response, hot shot dialogue, full embodiment of what it means to look at something. i also want this to be a celebration of the editorial process; if you have something, send it through, we will workshop it together. no point to any of it if we aren’t having a good time, so let’s hold each other and write and read and point at stuff we like. love eva }
